The Disabilities and Mental Health Manager oversees services that support the inclusion and well-being of children enrolled in the Head Start program. This position ensures compliance with the Office of Head Start Program Performance Standards related to disabilities and mental health services.
Key responsibilities include coordinating developmental screenings and evaluations, supporting children with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) or Individualized Family Service Plans (IFSPs), and ensuring at least 10% of enrollment opportunities are available to children with disabilities. The manager collaborates with education staff, families, local education agencies, and community mental health providers to promote social-emotional development and inclusion in the classroom. Be part of the transtion process for children with IEP's. Submit bi-weekly reports to supervisor with service area data.
This role also provides training and guidance to staff on behavior support, trauma-informed practices, and strategies that promote positive mental health for children and families. " />
