Teacher
Reports to: Building principal
Supervises: Assigned aide, if applicable
Qualifications: Valid Oklahoma teaching certificate in assigned subject(s)
Job Goal: Provide exceptional instruction to assigned students while working within the established policies and procedures of the district.
Employment Terms: 10 month contract
FLSA Classification: Exempt
Evaluation: Annually pursuant to Oklahoma law

Regular Requirements: Stand for extended periods; walk; twist at the neck and trunk; bend and reach with hands and arms overhead, above shoulder and horizontally; repetitive use of fingers and hands to grasp and/or operate equipment and demonstrate lessons to students; lift/move up to 15 pounds
Occasional Requirements: Lift/move up to 25 pounds
Visual Requirements: Close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, ability to adjust focus
Hearing/Speaking Requirements: Adequate to exchange information
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Establish and implement classroom procedures designed to maximize student learning.
- Prepare detailed weekly lesson plans consistent with Oklahoma Academic Standards. Timely submit plans to assigned principal.
- Prepare lessons consistent with written lesson plans and best education practices. Comply with all Individualized Education Plans.
- Maintain a neat and orderly classroom, including the physical arrangement of the room, student records and materials.
- Handle routine classroom discipline fairly.
- Prepare and timely submit all required reports.
- Attend and participate in all required meetings and conferences, including professional development and planning meetings.
- Maintain complete and accurate student records, including attendance, performance and discipline records.
- Provide professional and regular feedback to students and parents, ensuring compliance with all laws and district policies and procedures.
- Regularly participate in appropriate professional development opportunities.
- Utilize professional behavior in all school related interactions.
- Comply with all federal, state and local laws and board policies and procedures.
- Perform all other tasks as supervisor may assign.
